Babymoon 2011: Part one

Lots of exciting things happening lately. so many that I have taken many pics of all of our good eats and projects, but haven't sat down to put together any posts. In all the commotion we decided we needed a break. Newlyweds get their honeymoons and we decided we deserved a babymoon before the little ankle biter arrives. We spent 4 days total on our little getaway to Milwaukee. Of course we happened to be there during the HOTTEST days of the summer (seriously the ones that were 115 heat index) and we walked a lot... Here's a small recap of our travels. Drove through Lake Geneva Visit to the Jelly Belly Warehouse Dinner at Las Cubanitas (amazing Cuban food!) Forgot to take pics of the food... Breakfast @ Blue's Egg (mmmmmmmmmmmmm) Andy ordered Blue's Classic Benedict w/goat cheese, roasted olive and paprika aoli browns (hashbrowns). I had the House granola w/berries, milk and yogurt w/a bagel and caper cream cheese....wow. It was so much food I...

B-day Present from A: Super Find!

Weeks ago, A & I went to South Beloit to the Roscoe Antique Mall. I saw the most incredible set of vintage Samsonite luggage. It was a set of 3 in hot red and was in fantastic condition. Right after seeing the luggage I saw the old school roller derby roller skates w/wooden wheels which now sit in my front room (and I blogged about last month). I forgot about the luggage until last night when A presented me with the most thoughtful b-day present. I guess about a week ago he and Alan had a guys day and made a trip to the antique mall just to get the luggage. I was happy to just have the picture A gave me to add to our picture wall. It's from our garden. Little did I know that was just the first of 3 awesome presents.

Goodwill Find

I think it's been re-covered, but who cares. It cleaned up nicely, matches the colors in our bedroom and best of all...it didn't break the bank at a whopping $7.
