Nursery Projects: Ikea Dresser

We made the trip to Ikea, not knowing if we would actually find something that would work in the room or even be sturdy enough...you know it can go either way there. We actually found a dresser that we really like and it goes with the color scheme we have set up. The worst part was the putting it together.

I posted to Facebook yesterday after it was done: "key to putting together Ikea furniture. drink beer and take xanax. niether of which I am able to do in my condition...managed to put together a dresser for the babes room though. and it hasn't fallen apart...yet.."

Less than 24 hours later, it's still seeming pretty sturdy and the stress of putting it together is gone. It looks great.

34 week belly pic!

34 weeks...going on 35! (weird shadow makes my hair look big on top... but doesn't offset the belly growth...haha. Now we're getting antsy. I hit uncomfortable a few weeks ago...I can deal with that. Now we are just antsy to meet the little guy and introduce him to his family and friends. I think Andy & I are in fast forward mode all of a sudden, just wanting the time to fly by... Looking at pictures from last week it appears I may have dropped slightly...maybe?...maybe not? I guess I can sort of breath a little easier. I'm not waddling like many people say you do when this happens...I'm just slow...haha. I'm not nesting either. I've posted to Facebook to tell friends what I've been up to and they say I am, but really that's just me. I'm totally anal retentive and a perfectionist and have to have things in their place. This is my norm. Not anything new. 38 weeks 37 weeks As the time draws near my patients at work continue to say things like, "You're still here?" and "Had that baby yet?" Augie's Birth Story

So it's taken me a while to sit down and write about this. We've been adjusting to lots of new daily adventures. And every minute of it has been a blast. I can say I have no complaints! Life as new parents is great and I can only see it getting better. We're adjusting to our different sleep schedule which is really helping our mental health...haha. Andy heads back to work on Monday next week and I can say I really will miss all of the help that he has provided Augie and I over the past three weeks. He's an amazing husband and father. So here it goes- Sunday, the 15th, we slept in, ate left over pizza for lunch, celebrated birthdays at Andy's Grandma Jeanette's...I ate something like three different kinds of cake and ice cream (and I think I went back for a second round of sweets), hung out at my parents for a bit, then came home and ate macaroni and cheese, from a box. Not our usual day of fairly healthy eating, but that's what we had. After dinner ...
