Gluten Free/Egg Free Quick Breakfast

So I eat oatmeal most days of the week...sometimes for dinner too. On the weekends we like to change it up a bit and frankly, I love breakfast foods. I have not been eating eggs or other dairy for several weeks, so what's a girl to eat? Well, we can still make a pretty mean smoothie. Check out this Chocolate Cherry Banana Smoothie.


The ingredients-in any amount you want: 
  • Rice milk
  • Frozen cherries
  • Frozen banana
  • Dark chocolate cocoa powder (milk/lactose free)

And if you have never tried Van's Gluten free products-you should. I was surprised at their choices and both their waffles and french toast sticks are phenomenal...seriously, they are. Below is a pic of the french toast sticks with some toasted walnuts and coconut and a smearing of honey. YUM.

Now we're getting antsy. I hit uncomfortable a few weeks ago...I can deal with that. Now we are just antsy to meet the little guy and introduce him to his family and friends. I guess I can sort of breath a little easier. I'm not waddling like many people say you do when this happens...I'm just slow...haha. I'm not nesting either. I've posted to Facebook to tell friends what I've been up to and they say I am, but really that's just me. I'm totally anal retentive and a perfectionist and have to have things in their place. Augie's Birth Story

So it's taken me a while to sit down and write about this. We've been adjusting to lots of new daily adventures. And every minute of it has been a blast. I can say I have no complaints! Life as new parents is great and I can only see it getting better. We're adjusting to our different sleep schedule which is really helping our mental health...haha. Andy heads  back to work on Monday next week and I can say I really will miss all of the help that he has provided Augie and I over the past three weeks. He's an amazing husband and father. So here it goes- Sunday, the 15th, we slept in, ate left over pizza for lunch, celebrated birthdays at Andy's Grandma Jeanette's...I ate something like three different kinds of cake and ice cream (and I think I went back for a second round of sweets), hung out at my parents for a bit, then came home and ate macaroni and cheese, from a box.
