This was supposed to be a 6 month post, which turned into a 6 and a half month post and well..here we are. Augie was officially 7 months old on August 16th! The past 7+ months have completely flown by. It's obvious by my lack of posting that we have been keeping busy with other things....mainly this guy-
We've had some long, sleepless nights, but overall everything is running very smoothly in the Eikstadt household. Augie is growing by leaps and bounds and is healthy as can be. We had his 6 month well child visit with his pediatrician, and he weighed in at 16lbs 4 oz. He's definitely growing!

Here is what the little man is up to these days:
- Sitting up for long periods of time without support
- Rolling from front to back and back to front and then again and again and again...
- Army crawling and recently doing "push ups", planks and getting ready to crawl (I'm estimating within the next 2 weeks)
- Sleeping on his belly! (Ok not all the time, but occasionally)
- Eating solid food. We started with rice cereal...he hated it. We moved to oat cereal (gluten free) that has probiotics and prebiotics for his sensitive belly. We also introduced a variety of babyfoods-apples, apricots, bananas, blueberries, butternut squash, cherries, peaches, pears, prunes, pumpkin, sweet potatoes. He's also tried peas and avocado, but I think we will have to try again in the future.
We also tried some rice puffs. Augie is excellent at picking them up and shoving them in his mouth, BUT they kind of stick in the back of his throat...we'll be back to those eventually. Next on the menu-finger foods!
- He's a giggling, screaming fool.
- He babbles-a lot. We hear "da-da-da, ma-ma-ma, ya-ya-ya" and a variety of other things that sound like a foreign language.
- Passing toys from one hand to the other and back again
- Banging toys together and making noise
- "Pinching" to grab objects with his thumb and forefinger
- He's super happy and still loves to watch everything
Lately he has been a drooling mess. It's nothing new since he has been drooling since 2 months like crazy. And just this past Sunday we were surprised with his first tooth...and now his second is popping through too. We've tried some Hyland's teething tablets and are using a Baltic Amber teething necklace that supposedly helps with pain and discomfort in a natural way. I think the tabs are helping but who knows about the necklace...it can't hurt right?
