Birthday Breakfast

mmmmm...

The best cup of coffee

to start my b-day! Turnin' 31. Cheers to a sunny, productive day and a healthy year ahead. A & T

5/1//11: Asparagus & Goat Cheese Souffle

I've never made a souffle. Tonight was the night. After an incredible day in the garden I took on an ambitious dish from my most recent Food Network magazine. I was really excited to make it and then halfway through the cooking process I screwed it up a bit. BUT, I overcame the crazy mix up AND produced a phenomenal dish (not trying to sound like I'm the %&*# or anything...). It was really good and I was surprised at how it turned out. (making sure to enjoy a Southern Tier Jah*vah Imperial Coffee Stout while cooking) Souffle before cooking- Souffle during cooking- Souffle after cooking before EATING!!!!-

The Mantis

We tilled the garden. It was great w/the use of Alan's Mantis. The garden is looking awesome and practically weed free. We spent about 5 hours out there today. It was fun to be outside playing in the dirt and making progress. Can't wait to get those seeds/seedlings planted. They are really ready to get in the ground. Before Tilling- During- Seedlings itching to get in the ground- After to come later....

Midday Snack

So we had some left over pooris from breakfast. We kept it that way so we could have some later. I thought it would be fun to make them Mediterranean style and mix together some feta, kalamata olives and sun dried tomatoes that were in oil and plop that in the pooris. It was a wonderful little snack to hold us over while gardening. We paired it with a little raspberry sun tea that had been soaking up the rays all morning!

5/1/11:Shrikhand & Pooris

Made this amazing breakfast dish to start off my B-day weekend. It was a simple and fun to make Indian dish. The shrikhand is greek yo, w/pistachios, raisins and some other fun stuff. The pooris is a dough made of flour, veg oil and a dash of salt thrown into a little veg oil. It was so tasty along w/a fantastic cup of French Pressed coffee made by A w/his great agave milk foam....mmm.

Food. Yup. Food.

Some food that we've had over the past week or two that have yet to make it to this blog. Huevos Rancheros Steak Tacos w/greek yo and avocado on corn tortillas Cobb Salad w/Cod Bacon Wrapped Dates
