Homemade Granola Bars

A & I decided we spend too much money on granola bars and decided to save a little money and make our own. It's super easy. We can add whatever we want AND they taste really good. Made them yesterday and let them cool most of the day. Cut them up this morning into bars and little bites. Yum.

6/26/11: Quickles...

I saw a recipe on the Rachel Ray Show in February for a version of a "quick pickle" or as A calls it, a "Quickle". We finally had a chance to make this. We didn't know what a Fresno pepper was, so we used pepperoncinis, and added a few more of our favorite spices and extra garlic for a little pizzazz. In 24 hours we be enjoying a homemade pickle. mmmm.

6/25/11: Grillin' & chillin

Peggy (Andy's Mom) came over to hang with us for dinner. We made Grilled Pork Lettuce Wraps w/Hoisin and all the fixins, went for a great walk around the neighborhood, counting 15 rabbits along the way(previous record was 13) and Peggy made a phenomenal (and healthy) lemon, raspberry desert, to which Andy had to add some dark chocolate drizzle...fo' shizzle. (FYI that's stain under A's fingernail. It grossed me out cause I thought it was dirt...I had to ask...)

Look what we made now...

We confess. We've had a secret...and now we're ready to share. Little Baby E. is 9 wks 3 days old. Here's the first portraits. A & I are super excited. Let the fun continue!

6/17/11: For the Halibut

haha. A made fantastic halibut on the grill tonight. It was a major success. Side dish = burned up asparagus....mmmm... Long before dinner he created a post work, pre dinner appetizer...(yes those are saltines)

The closet is done

With the help of my Dad, we finally finished the closet project. It's awesome. Weirdly, it's Andy's closet. I'm lucky enough to get to hang my pants in there...hehe. It looks great and we love it! Thanks Dad!

Update Part 2: It's ALIVE!

Things are growing in our garden! yipeeeeeee. We have a TON of rhubarb. This is the first harvesting. I need to get out and do this again. The plan is to make some sort of rhubarb crisp or pie. I'm not a huge rhubarb fan, but I think I'll try... We started with 2 strawberries And in the past few days have picked 2 bowls full! The garden continues to grow... The flowers are bloomin!

Update! It's been a while. Part 1: FOOD

A lot has happened over the past 3 weeks. Just so many things that I haven't had time to document them here! Check out the summary of what's been going on... Andy made me an awesome spritzer...mmm. And oatmeal, walnut pancakes with strawberries on top... We bought a Ninja Chopper to make kick ass smoothies and shakes. They are kick ass. We have a smoothie almost every morning now. Here's a raspberry, banana one with my egg, wasabi mayo and goat cheese topped crostini dish...mmm... We made a Tijuana Torta from Eating Well Magazine and enjoyed it very much And since all it appears we do is eat, we had some amazing salmon and sweet potato fries... And another day we ate more eggs and smoothies... And then had some pizza with chicken, carmelized onions, arugula, asiago and tomatos. And some more eggs... And an artichoke, mushroom, asiago pizza... Guess we've had a lot of pizza in the last month; sage chicken, arugula, and prosciutto pizza... OK, I&
